Dear Friends,

All of this is possible because of you. YOU play a significant role in our success and we can’t thank you enough.

Cheers to a successful year!

Sincerely,
Tom

PC Header, Did You Know

KPBS Midday Edition has shifted from talk to a magazine-style format. The program will now air five days a week, starting at noon until 1 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays, and from noon to 12:30 p.m. on Fridays. The changes reflect the station’s priority to be more responsive to daily and breaking news.

KPBS Midday Edition as a magazine program will be able to be more responsive to the issues of the day, as well as having room for creative storytelling outside the studio with sound-rich portraits from the San Diego community,” said Suzanne Marmion, KPBS Director of News and Editorial Strategy. The new format will feature interviews with KPBS reporters who have carefully researched, written, and reported on these issues as well as stories from other public media entities. The primary focus of the new interview format is to do mostly recorded interviews and fewer live interviews. Live interviews will now occur based on editorial decisions and depending on relevant events and stories.

KPBS Midday Edition will feature at least five originally produced stories each day and will include a daily arts and culture segment devoted to coverage of the arts in San Diego. The daily arts segment will include information about exhibits coming to San Diego area museums, plays coming to theaters across the county, authors speaking at local libraries and bookstores, previews of San Diego’s top weekend events, and more music performances.

KPBS Roundtable is now shown Fridays at 12:30 p.m. following KPBS Midday Edition.
