As a "Friends for Life" member, you will ensure that KPBS can continue educating our community through high quality public media. Your name will be prominently displayed at the station on our “Friends for Life” plaque. You will also be invited to our “Friends for Life” appreciation event and monthly Producers Club events. Planned gifts that qualify for membership include gifts from wills, trusts, retirement plans, annuities, or insurance policies and there is no minimum requirement. We will honor requests for anonymity and such requests do not preclude you from membership. Please let us know of your planned gift by March 25 so we can thank you and understand your wishes.

Kris Vera PhillipsKPBS Senior News Producer Kris Vera-Phillips brings more than nine years of experience producing news shows and content in San Francisco, Sacramento and Topeka, Kansas. She knows how to juggle breaking news coverage and long-format segments, including live studio interviews with former State Assembly Speaker Willie Brown and Congressman Eric Swalwell. Her work has been recognized by the Associated Press Television-Radio Association.

Kris recently began work as a Fellow in the Next Generation Leadership program. This program, funded by the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, is designed to support new and diverse editorial leaders for public media.  The training began on January 24 at WGBH Boston with an “Immersion Week” that brought the Fellows together with leadership and public media experts; it will continue throughout 2016.

KPBS will be participating in Explore SDSU this Saturday, March 19!

Explore SDSU Open House is a free all-campus event featuring an information fair, academic program workshop, tours, and open houses. This is a great opportunity for future students to explore what life is like as an SDSU Aztec.

SDSU also invites all alumni back to campus to reconnect with favorite programs and departments, enjoy live entertainment, visit the Alumni Center, and explore campus to see what has changed.

On this day, KPBS will open its doors for everyone to come by, learn more about what we do, and see where we create the content you enjoy on radio and watch on television!

We'll be offering in-depth tours of our News Center and Studios every twenty minutes from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on a first-come, first-served basis. You can pick-up timed tickets for tours throughout the day beginning at 8:50 a.m. Stop by early so you don’t miss out.

KPBS is located at the corner of Campanile Drive and Lindo Paseo. Campus parking for Explore SDSU Open House is free. You may park in any space marked for SDSU students or faculty/staff.
