About The Heavy Guilt

The Heavy Guilt is as much Americana as it is avant garde garage, as much folk blues as it is psychedelic indie stomp. It is six focused musicians, from varying backgrounds, translating their influences into a common language beneath the dim crimson lights of the stage. It is a sweaty driving catharsis, a train of thought bulldozing cross the tracks of rural America, it is a roadmap through the emotive wilderness, it is a collage put together by time worn hands, it is the sound and rhythm of a saturated city, it is the direction you take after last call. The Heavy Guilt is rock n roll.

About The Earful

The Earful is a high powered, in your face, shake your booty machine that will funk you just right. Formed in late 2008, The Earful touches on various styles of the funk in all of its forms and pays tribute to the masters. Having shared the stage with amazing talent such as Soulive, Level 42, Groundation, Orgone, The Aggrolites and Les Nubians, they bring a paint peeling, barn burning intensity that is unforgettable. The heavy sound of the Hammond Organ, the funky bass lines, and the stabbing brass hits of this 7 piece group are sure to get your rump bumpin'.

About Candy Kane

Seven time National Blues Awards Nominee Candye Kane has been called a survivor, a superhero and the toughest girl alive. (All are also titles of her self-penned songs.) Her eleventh CD release, Sister Vagabond, was released on Delta Groove Records and was #1 on the Living Blues Charts and on Sirius/XM Radio for two months. Sister Vagabond was self produced by Kane and her noted guitarist Laura Chavez. Many critics say that it is Kane’s finest work to date and unanimously agree that it is a worthy successor to their 2010 collaboration, Superhero, nominated for Best Contemporary Blues CD along with many other honors.

KPBS is a public service of San Diego State University.
