Tour the International Rescue Committee
New Roots Community Farm

 Saturday, June 8, 2013
11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

irc_logoEach year, through the State Department, International Rescue Committee (IRC) San Diego takes in over one thousand people with refugee visas and helps them settle here. Some of these refugees are now farming at the IRC New Roots Community Farm in City Heights. Since many of the refugees are from agricultural communities, this work is not only productive but therapeutic in helping them adjust to San Diego. Join us on Saturday, June 8 for a one-hour tour of the New Roots Community Farm and meet some of the 80 local families of farmers who share the 2.3 acre farm.

Following the tour, sit down and enjoy lunch from a local East African food truck (purchase required).

IRC New Roots Community FarmThere is no cost to attend the tour.
